i
don´t know how its like in scottland at this time,
but i guess it doesn´t has so much snow, than we
have here in thuringia.
but
anyway, we know how to handle it and are good drivers, i
think.
after
about 2 hours driving to erfurt, we had to search for
that club named apollo with its new series
"beinfreiheit" (freedom for the legs... bad english,
i know). as we realized, the searching tooked a little
bit longer...
at the
end we arrived about 3 o´clock. we were in luck,
cause alex smoke was just about to begin. and
after all, he was the reason for taking all that risks
another time!
alex
smoke opens up the beinfreiheit series from dj
gunne & marco (two locals here around).
monthly they want to present a fine electronic lineup,
which offers a little bit more, than the existing
club-programs here in erfurt.
as we
saw, the club was not there own. so they had to do there
best, to decorate, install projectors and stuff. after
all, it created a better atmosphere in that high-roomed
club. but we have to admit, that there is still a lot to
do, to make the club more comfortable.
but
lets talk about the main thing here, the
music.
without
any doubts, we really enjoyed the set from alex
smoke.
that
young scottish guy made a good job. in great britian he
is very popular at the moment. the english press - as
always - is very hysteric about new things and often they
exaggerate a little bit. but in that case its alright,
cause alex really played an good set.
mainly
very mixed up techno in all kind of styles, without
frontiers. not so boring as other dj-mates. so, yes
indeed, he es doing something in a new way.
on our
2h trip to erfurt, we had a lot time to hear the latest
bbc1 essential mix, where alex played not long
ago. i would say the set today was as good as that!
so
after that, we definitly had the feeling, that it was no
mistake, to take the risk of that journey
today.
